Morocco Announces Squad for Africa Cup Qualifiers, Ziyech Absent

The coach of the Moroccan national football team, Walid Regragui, has announced the list of selected players, with the absence of Hakim Ziyech for the next two 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The Atlas Lions will face Gabon away on November 15, then host Lesotho on November 18 in Oujda.
For these two crucial matches, Regragui has called up a group of 26 players, mixing experienced veterans and young talents. In goal, the usual trio of Yassine Bounou, Munir Mohamedi and Salahdine Chahab is accompanied by the young Ayoub Khayati.
The defensive sector revolves around the pillars Achraf Hakimi, Nayef Aguerd and Noussair Mazraoui. Abdelkabir Abqar, Jamal Harkass, Yahya Attiat-Allah, Adam Azno and Adam Masina complete this sector.
In midfield, Sofyan Amrabat, Azzedine Ounahi and Bilal El Khannous will be tasked with orchestrating the play, supported by Ismael Saibari, Oussama Targaline and Amir Richardson.
Finally, the Moroccan attack will be able to count on the firepower of Youssef En-Nesyri and Ayoub El Kaabi, the speed of Sofiane Rahimi and Ilias Akhomach, as well as the creativity of Ilyas Ben Seghir, Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, Brahim Diaz and Oussama Sahraoui.
Morocco, which is hosting the 2025 CAN, will approach these two matches with the aim of consolidating its first place in Group B of the qualifiers. The match against Gabon will take place at the Omar Bongo Ondimba Stadium in Franceville on Friday, November 15 at 8:00 pm (GMT+1). The match against Lesotho will be held at the Oujda Honor Stadium on Monday, November 18 at 8:00 pm (GMT+1).
