Morocco Ranks 8th in Top Travel Destinations for 2024, Le Routard Guide Says

Morocco is ranked 8th in the list of the 10 best destinations to set up your bags, according to the ranking by Le Routard.
Morocco occupies the 8th place in the ranking of the 10 best destinations to set up your bags, established by Le Routard. "In May, nature is more flourishing than ever there! The climate is perfect to go to cities like Fez, Meknes and Marrakech. So let’s go?" advises the site. The platform urges travelers to visit Mandarin Oriental, a modern and elegant resort, nestled in the heart of 20 hectares of olive groves and gardens sheltering 100,000 fragrant roses, celebrating the rich Moroccan heritage through subtle Berber references in Marrakech.
"The establishment redefines luxury hospitality in the Red City thanks to accommodations consisting exclusively of private villas and suites, nestled in lush vegetation," describes the publication, adding that Mandarin Oriental offers a new culinary experience in its four restaurants and bars. The establishment also offers renowned treatments that have made the group internationally renowned, as well as treatments inspired by Moroccan traditions in its award-winning Spa.
The French Riviera tops the ranking. It owes its place to the Carlton Cannes, the famous hotel located on the Croisette, which has just obtained the prestigious Five-Star distinction awarded by the Forbes Travel Guide 2025. With Version Maquis Citadelle, a timeless refuge, Corsica rises to second place. Italy (Lefay Resort & SPA Dolomiti) takes third place, while Portugal (Hotel Fortaleza do Guincho Relais & Châteaux) occupies fourth place. Then come Greece (Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens), Crete (InterContinental Crete) and Croatia (Hyatt Regency Zadar).
With Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile, a pioneering brand of French luxury hospitality since 1964, Egypt occupies the ninth place in the ranking. French Polynesia (The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort) completes the top 10.
