Morocco’s Mazraoui Seeks National Team Return Amid Strong Club Form

Noussair Mazraoui, the Moroccan right-back playing for Ajax Amsterdam, is having trouble accepting his absence from the national team. For a few weeks now, he has been one of the players that Vahid Halilhodzic no longer calls up to participate in the Atlas Lions’ sporting events.
Noussair Mazraoui is one of the players that the national coach avoids summoning, given their lack of performance at the club level. But recently, the player seems to be at his best, especially at the start of the season where he has managed to score 3 goals and 2 assists in 6 Eredivisie matches played.
When questioned about his future in the national team, Noussair Mazraoui expressed his bitterness at knowing he is being sidelined. "The coach doesn’t want me in the national team. But I’m not a difficult person. I leave the decision to the coach, as long as he makes the right choices for the good of the national team," he explains.
"It hurts my heart, especially since I want to play for my country and the Moroccan people there, it was my first and only choice. But if a coach deprives me of it, no matter what I say or do, it won’t change anything," adds the player.
He emphasizes that he is ready to wear the jersey if Vahid Halilhodzic deems him useful. "It’s just disturbing that I’m being left out without any explanation."
