Morocco’s Mazraoui Set for National Team Return Ahead of Africa Cup of Nations

Absent for several months from the sporting events of the Atlas Lions, Noussair Mazraoui could make his return and be included in the list of players who will participate in the Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Cameroon.
The crisis between Mazraoui and Vahid Halilhodzic could be a thing of the past. The latter reproached the former for having boycotted a training session and a match on the pretext of being unwell, while the medical service had given a contrary opinion.
In a recent interview, the Ajax Amsterdam player flatly denied the coach’s accusations and indicated that the latter held a grudge against him because he had refused to drink water during the last training session he attended with the Lions.
Fortunately, this matter is close to a resolution. Hakim Ziyech, the right-back of Chelsea, also sidelined for disciplinary reasons, will remain. Everything is being put in place for his return, especially since the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation has offered his mediation so that peace can return and allow the team to focus on facing the two upcoming competitions.
Author of a good season with Ajax (4 goals and 4 assists), Mazraoui has every chance of making his return to the national team. The national coach would be open to all possibilities concerning him. As for Ziyech, it’s another story.
