Morocco’s Marrakech Ranks 8th in Top Summer Travel Destinations for French Tourists

The online travel agency Opodo has established its top 10 of the most booked destinations in July and August 2022. The French "did not hesitate to pack their bags and set sail" this summer, it said. Marrakech (Morocco) occupies the 8th place in the ranking. Lisbon and Porto take the first two places followed by Barcelona (3rd). France dominates the ranking with four cities (Ajaccio, 4th), Nice, 5th, Figari, 9th and Marseille, 10th. Malta is positioned in 6th place followed by Palma de Mallorca (Spain).

According to the online agency Monde-Du-Voyage.com, the number of dry flights in the summer of 2022 experienced a significant increase in activity compared to 2021 in both order date and departure date. "The catch-up of the two Covid-19 years continues," the travel agent rejoices. The most sought-after destinations for sun holidays are Southern Europe (Spain, Portugal), the United States and Morocco, the latter being the best-selling destination.
