Morocco Ranks Among Top Budget-Friendly Destinations for French Travelers

Despite the cancellation of flights due to cabin crew strikes or lack of flight crew, the French’s desire to travel remains strong. Many of them want to spend their holidays in the sun, opting for the most affordable destinations, says Air Journal. "This summer, the desire to travel and seek a bit of change of scenery is strong among the French, with 60% planning to go on vacation during the summer period, 42% of whom want to go abroad, an increase of 19 points compared to the summer of 2021. Betting on last-minute bookings can prove to be a very good plan to make savings on the price of plane tickets, provided of course that you are flexible and can organize yourself at the last minute," comments Guillaume Rostand, spokesperson for Liligo.com.

According to the online travel agency Bourse-des-vols.com, the top 10 destinations are: France, United States, Morocco, Mexico, Algeria, Tunisia, Corsica, Spain, Portugal and Guadeloupe. The French want to fly to these destinations and opt for last-minute bookings. "Regarding order intake in the first half of 2022, we note a clear behavior: much more short-term sales. The French may have deferred their purchases, scalded by the many cancellations and changes to flight schedules," says the travel agent. And to observe: "This year, we see an average departure in less than two months (53 days) from the reservation, which is new for summer sales usually anticipated well in advance. It must be said that a good part of Asia and Eastern European countries have remained closed or exposed to deterrent tensions."
