Morocco to Mark Islamic New Year 1444 on July 30, Official Announcement Pending

The 1st of Muharram, marking the beginning of the new Hijri year 1444, will be celebrated on July 30 next in Morocco, according to astronomical calculations. The official date will be announced in a few days by the Ministry of Endowments.
According to scientific data, the observation of the new crescent will be possible on July 28 at 5:55 p.m. This will be the 28th day of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah. As a result, the official observation will only begin the next day, Friday, July 29.
Consequently, the 1st of Muharram of the new Hijri year 1444 will coincide with Saturday, July 30, the same sources point out.
