PSV’s Driouech Joins Netherlands U21 Squad, Shifting from Morocco Youth Team

Couhaib Driouech, a 22-year-old striker playing for PSV Eindhoven, has just been called up with the Netherlands U21 team. A surprise for some, as the player has already worn the Moroccan jersey in the youth categories.
The PSV Eindhoven striker has been called up for the first time to the Netherlands U21 team. The 22-year-old is the only new face in Michael Reiziger’s selection, which will face Slovakia and England in friendly matches this month.
Driouech, who joined PSV this summer from Excelsior, has already worn the Moroccan colors in the youth categories. "He was born in the Netherlands, so he could also play for us. We are delighted that he is joining the selection," said Reiziger.
These matches are part of the preparation for the U21 Euro which will take place next year in Slovakia. The first match against Slovakia will be played away on November 14, followed by a confrontation with defending champions England on November 18 in Almere.
