Morocco’s energy policy based on renewable energies has made it possible to increase electricity production by 37% in ten years. Today, Morocco produces more than 4,000 megawatts of wind and solar energy, thus becoming one of the pioneers in this field. With a large solar power plant installed in Noor Ouarzazate which produces 580 megawatts and provides clean electricity to more than a million households, the Moroccan model attracts foreign investors and is emulated in the region and around the world.

Morocco intends to bring the contribution of renewable energies to the energy mix to 52% by 2030. King Mohammed VI, in his speech opening the parliamentary session, stressed the need to achieve energy sovereignty in order to strengthen the strategic security of the kingdom.
