Morocco Climbs 5 Spots in Global Renewable Energy Attractiveness Index

Morocco has gained five places in terms of attractiveness in the renewable energy sector. This is what the London firm Ernst & Young (EY) indicates in its latest Renewable Energy Country Attractiveness Index (RECAI).
In addition to Morocco, Portugal and Vietnam have also gained five places. The kingdom must certainly owe this leap to the investment it is making in the sector. In total, $5.65 billion has been injected into renewable energy over the past 10 years. An investment that will be renewed for the next decade. Other prospects: "accelerate the energy transition process to establish Morocco in green growth".
France and Switzerland, on the other hand, lose four and 11 places respectively. As for Israel and Jordan, they fall six places on this list.
In the top 10, we find the United States retaining first place thanks to the significant support of Covid-19 recovery plans for renewable energy projects and the potential return to the Paris Climate Agreements, followed by China maintaining their second place, Australia (3rd), India (4th), the United Kingdom (5th), Germany (6th), France (7th) and Japan (8th). The Netherlands and Spain close the podium.
This is the first time that Australia has reached a higher position in the history of RECAI. This is the result of announcements of mega solar and hydrogen projects for export.
