Morocco Leads Maghreb in Internet Speed, Ranks 56th Globally

Morocco has the best connection in the Maghreb, far ahead of Algeria, Libya and Tunisia. This is revealed by the global ranking of the specialized site Speedtest Global Index on mobile and fixed internet connection.
Morocco ranks 56th in the ranking of countries by the speed of their mobile internet connection with an average download speed of 33.04 megabytes per second (mbps). Tunisia ranks 72nd with a speed of 25.04 mbps while Libya is 122nd with a connection speed of 7.46 mbps. As for Algeria, it occupies the 138th place out of 139 in the ranking, one of the worst connections in the world.
South Korea, Qatar and Norway are in the top 3 of the ranking with speeds of 117.79 mbps, 77.07 mbps and 72.80 mbps respectively. The United States is 37th (39.29 mbps) while France is 29th (44.12 mbps). As for fixed internet, Morocco ranks 123rd out of 176 countries with a speed of 17.72 mbps, far ahead of Algeria (173rd, 3.99 mbps), Tunisia (157th, 9.77 mbps) and Libya (146th, 11.85 mbps).
Singapore (193.21 mbps), South Korea (164.12 mbps) and Hong Kong (157.64 mbps) occupy the top three places for the best fixed internet connection speeds. France ranks 7th with a speed of 131.03 mbps while the United States is 9th with a speed of 129.81 mbps.
