Morocco Launches SMS Donation System for COVID-19 Relief Fund

Through an SMS to 1919, Moroccans can contribute to the Special Fund dedicated to the management of the Coronavirus pandemic in Morocco.
Each SMS to the number 1919, operational since Saturday, March 21, represents a donation of 10 dirhams, according to a press release from the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
This initiative is part of the national effort to fight the Coronavirus pandemic and its effects.
Launched on March 15, this fund has received various subscriptions from companies, individuals and even the sovereign’s collaborators. The king himself contributed through his holding company to the tune of 2 billion dirhams.
In three days, the fund has collected more than 27 billion dirhams.
