Maroc Telecom Donates $150 Million to Morocco’s COVID-19 Fund After Strong Q1 Results

Maroc Telecom has made a direct donation of 1.5 billion dirhams to the special covid-19 fund created on the instructions of King Mohammed VI.
This donation comes following the publication, in the first quarter of 2020, of Maroc Telecom’s net result. It is an adjusted net result of 1,597 million dirhams, an improvement of 0.9%, and an EBITDA margin rate down 0.5 points to 51.5% (+0.1 points on a comparable basis). Results driven by data.
The historical operator stated that it had paid 3 billion dirhams representing the penalty of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ANRT) for unfair competition. The Treasury has paid this sum of money into the special fund for the management of the covid-19 crisis.
The Maroc Telecom Group achieved a consolidated turnover of 9.309 billion dirhams at the end of March 2020; which represents an increase of 4% (+2% on a comparable basis) compared to the same period in 2019.
