Morocco's Covid-19 Fund Surpasses $1.8 Billion, Telecom Giant Among Top Donors

The special covid-19 fund, launched on March 15 on the instructions of King Mohammed VI, raised 18.3 billion dirhams by the end of March, according to a report from the General Treasury of the Kingdom (TGR).

Since the announcement of the creation of the "Special Fund for the Management of the Covid-19 Pandemic" endowed with 10 billion dirhams from the state budget, no official announcement has been made on the amounts collected.

According to the General Treasury of the Kingdom, the Fund recorded revenues of around 18.3 billion dirhams which do not appear in the table.

The amounts received or to be received, as well as the donors, are as follows:
• Maroc Telecom (ANRT fines): 3.3 billion dirhams,
• OCP; 3.03 billion dirhams,
• General State Budget; 2.5 billion dirhams (10 billion dirhams announced),
• Hassan II Fund: 1 billion dirhams,
• Afriquia Gaz: 1 billion dirhams,
• ANCFCC: 1 billion dirhams.
• BCP: 1 billion dirhams;
• CNSS: 500 million dirhams,
• MCMA Vie: 500 million dirhams;
• OFPPT: 500 million dirhams,
• BMCE Bank: 500 million dirhams (1 billion dirhams announced).
