Moroccan Café Sparks Outrage with 15-Minute Customer Time Limit

A sign displayed in a café in the city of Larache, Morocco, has provoked strong reactions on social media. The sign imposed a time limit on customers, an initiative that has been widely perceived as a restriction of their freedom.
The precise message of the sign was as follows: "Prohibited from sitting for more than 15 minutes, respect and you will be respected." Its online dissemination has quickly led to a wave of outrage. Internet users have described the measure as a flagrant overreach and abusive policy aimed at forcing customers to leave the premises.
The main criticism voiced by internet users concerns what they consider to be a decline in the respect due to customers. According to them, this incident illustrates the transformation of certain cafés, traditionally places of social exchange, into simple commercial spaces that do not take into account the human dimension.
Although not confirmed by the management, some justifications have circulated, suggesting that the objective was to ensure a rotation of tables to serve more customers during peak hours. But this explanation has not appeased the discontent. The critics have maintained that the logistical solutions of an establishment must respect the dignity and comfort of people, without resorting to restrictions deemed constraining and unacceptable.
