Morocco Launches Nationwide Tourism Recovery Tour to Boost Sector

The Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) will crisscross the 12 regions of Morocco starting this Thursday to meet with the heads of the Regional Tourism Councils (CRT) and industry professionals. The objective is to put in place the roadmap for the sector’s recovery plan.
The ONMT organized this tour with the support of the National Confederation of Tourism (CNT). In a press release, the office stated that the sector’s recovery plan is intended not only for international markets, but also for domestic tourism. The first region to host the team is Dakhla Oued Eddahab, presented as a strategic destination for beach tourism. The other stages will follow one after the other, reports the MAP.
These are stages during which the discussions will focus on the strategies to be put in place to ensure a good recovery for the 12 regions. And since each region has its own specificity and potential, the strategies will be oriented towards the promotion of what these regions have that is unique and unprecedented.
The ONMT’s approach also aims to reach out to industry professionals to gather from them what they expect from this recovery plan initiated by the Ministry of Tourism, led by Nadia Fettah Alaoui, Minister of Tourism, Air Transport, Handicrafts and Social Economy.
According to the director of the ONMT, Adel El Fakir, it is important for them today to "meet Moroccan professionals, hit hard by the health crisis and who need, more than ever, adapted promotion campaigns to initiate the recovery both nationally and internationally, as soon as travel between regions and the opening of borders are authorized," the same source specifies.
