Morocco Boosts Tourism: New Air Routes to Fez and Meknes Planned

Fez-Meknes joins the list of regions that the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) plans to highlight as part of the development of the tourism recovery plan. A delegation from the office visited the spiritual capital.
"As the region has been particularly impacted by the crisis, the recovery strategy will have to be particularly offensive and the levers will have to be activated quickly," the ONMT said in a press release following a meeting with local officials.
On this occasion, Adel El Fakir, CEO of ONMT, indicated that "the strategy will focus on air transport, the establishment of a strong brand for Fez-Meknes and the hinterland with international markets and a more targeted approach for the domestic market".
The president of the Fez-Meknes Regional Tourism Council, Aziz Lebbar, stressed that "the region is counting on ONMT to support it in order to put in place the necessary actions in terms of air transport and positioning on the national and international chessboard, so that finally the professionals in the region can resume their activities and recover the lost market shares".
The office is currently working on the implementation and rescheduling of flights to Fez.
