Morocco Launches ’Marhaba 2022’ to Welcome Returning Expatriates

After several weeks of preparation, the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity is launching this Sunday, June 5, the 2022 edition of the Marhaba operation to welcome Moroccans Residing Abroad (MREs) and this will be in the presence of King Mohammed VI.
For this 2022 edition, several changes have been made, especially at the level of the reception system set up in Morocco, France, Italy and Spain, as well as the opening of new reception sites to facilitate the return of MREs, who according to the Foundation, will come in large numbers to Morocco this year.
In total, 23 reception areas have been set up by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity and all the parties involved in the organization of the 2022 edition of the Marhaba operation. In Morocco, there are 17 reception sites installed in the ports of Tanger Med, Tanger-ville, Al Hoceima and Nador, at the entrances of Bab Sebta and Bab Mellilia, in the airports of Casablanca Mohammed V, Oujda Angad, Agadir Al Massira, Fès Saïss, Marrakech Menara and Tanger Ibn Battouta as well as in the rest areas Méditerranée, Jebha and Tazaghine.
This year, two new sites have been opened at Rabat-Salé airport and M’Diq (Smir). Abroad, 6 spaces have been installed at the ports of Genoa, Sète, Marseille, Motril, Almería and Algeciras. In addition to the medical assistance services found on board long-haul ships, this year the Moroccan authorities have also decided to use the services of social workers who will remain operational at the reception sites deployed by the Foundation in Morocco and abroad.
Nearly 1,000 people have been mobilized by the Foundation. These include social workers, doctors, paramedical staff and volunteers, who have been tasked with assisting and providing MREs with all the necessary support and assistance so that this Marhaba 2022 operation is a success.
