Morocco Launches Major Motorway Modernization to Enhance Traffic Flow and Safety

The National Motorway Company of Morocco (ADM) is implementing a major development program based on the modernization and digitalization of the operation activity, the diversification of the service offer on the network. This program will promote, it is promised, a comfortable and secure journey for users.
Installed in partnership with the players in the motorway network, this system will further support the management of the growth of the national motorway traffic, which normally records around 400,000 vehicles per day, or nearly 1.2 million travelers, and can reach 500,000 daily during periods of high traffic like this one. Thus, to better manage and streamline traffic, ADM is adopting "total vigilance mode," informs Aujourd’hui Le Maroc, specifying that the motorway operator intends to first strengthen the teams of traffic managers at the level of the central and regional control rooms. In this sense, the company has recently installed a new high-tech central control room with state-of-the-art technological solutions.
This room will allow to supervise the traffic on the entire national motorway network, not to mention the rapid detection of any incident, quality communication and coordination with all the players on the motorway network. In addition, the company plans to initiate animation campaigns in the main toll plazas and service areas, in order to democratize the automatic payment mode Jawaz. It will also carry out preliminary interventions such as the maintenance of infrastructure equipment, the resumption of horizontal signage, the repair of restraint devices and others during the summer period.
It will also be a question of organizing communication and awareness campaigns for motorway users in order to get them to adopt good behaviors. The rest areas and services offered to users will also be improved. The achievement of these objectives will be done with the collaboration of the teams of the Royal Gendarmerie, Civil Protection, the assistance teams and all the partners. In addition, several other actions, including the construction and equipment of rescue posts on the motorway network, are already being realized. ADM also has a Facebook page that promotes interaction with customer-users and keeps them informed of all useful news and information.
