Morocco Launches First Major Gaming Expo in Casablanca, Targeting Growing African Market

Morocco will host the first edition of the Moroccan video game show "Casablanca Gaming Expo" from March 27 to 29, 2020.
A true showcase of the video game industry, Casablanca Gaming Expo or the video game show, aims to contribute to the development and influence of the video game and esports sector in all aspects. It also aims to be a platform to federate the Moroccan and African gaming ecosystem.
According to the organizers, this edition comes to accompany a constantly evolving sector. With more than three million active Moroccan players, and a turnover exceeding 840 million dirhams (the turnover of the gaming industry in Morocco for the year 2017), Morocco is now a real hub in video games.
It should be noted that Morocco is ranked 3rd among African countries excelling in gaming in 2018. With more than 3 million active players, Morocco is valued at $49 million, a figure representing the transactions and micro-transactions made by Moroccans, paid to foreign companies (purchase of dematerialized games, purchase of virtual currency, gaming equipment, etc.).
