Morocco to Launch National Agency for Promoting Arts and Culture Abroad

The Delegate Minister in charge of Moroccans Living Abroad (MRE), Nezha El Ouafi, announced during a ceremony organized in Rabat on the occasion of the national migrant day, that the government has decided to create a national agency responsible for the promotion of Moroccan arts and culture worldwide.
According to Nezha El Ouafi, this initiative is based on the recommendations of a study. It will therefore be "to urgently create this agency whose main purpose is the promotion and management of the various cultural activities of Morocco abroad," the minister declared on Tuesday. It will not replace the ministry, which will retain its strategic role in this area.
Nezha El Ouafi stressed that the Moroccan cultural sector "does not have a problem related to financial receipts and revenues," but it needs to be promoted and valued abroad, she specified.
The minister also indicated that the roadmap concerning Morocco’s cultural offering abroad provides for the construction of five cultural centers in Africa.
