Morocco's King Orders Nationwide COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign

King Mohammed VI decided on Monday, November 9 to extend vaccination to all segments of the population. This decision, relayed by the local media, is unanimous in the press.

Several media outlets have featured prominent headlines on this royal decision. In a 3-page dossier on "Anti-corona Vaccine: the hope", Al Ahdath Al Maghribia recalled the new guidelines of the king on the vaccination operation. The king has called on the health authorities to implement the necessary health, logistical and technical means to succeed in this challenge. In doing so, the Moroccan sovereign is watching over the health of all Moroccans, the same newspaper specified.

In the same dossier, it was noted that the two structures identified to provide the vaccine doses have announced that they have tested the vaccine with an efficacy rate of 90%. For its part, the daily Assabah, which titled "A royal vaccination strategy", argues that this royal decision was made after the opinion of the ad hoc National Scientific Committee. According to the same daily, this national operation is a royal response to curb the recent sharp rise in contaminations.

As for Akhbar Al Yaoum, it recalled the different stages of the clinical trials and announced the end of the 3rd and final promising trial phase as early as next week. As for Al Massae, the most exposed subjects will receive two injections. They will be followed by the security forces, teachers and the medical staff.

As for Al Akhbar, it argues that Morocco has reached this level in the acquisition of the Covid-19 vaccine because of the permanent and direct involvement of King Mohammed VI who wanted the kingdom to be at the center of scientific research and trials as part of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
