Morocco’s King Mohammed VI Postpones Throne Anniversary Celebrations Amid COVID-19 Concerns

All the activities, festivities and ceremonies planned for the 22nd anniversary of the enthronement of King Mohammed VI have been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a statement, the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery announced that, taking into account the continued preventive measures imposed by the evolution of the health situation, it has been decided to postpone all the activities, festivities and ceremonies planned for the 22nd Anniversary of King Mohammed VI’s accession to the throne.

Thus, it has been decided to postpone the reception ceremony presided over by the Sovereign on this glorious occasion, the ceremony of swearing in of the graduating officers from the various military, paramilitary and civilian schools and institutes, the ceremony of allegiance to Amir Al-Mouminine, and all the parades and demonstrations attended by a large number of citizens, it is specified. However, the King will address a speech to the Moroccan people.
