A delegation led by King Mohammed VI could participate in the Russia-Africa summit on October 23 and 24, 2019 in Sochi.
According to the daily Akhbar Al Yaoum, this summit will be co-chaired by Vladimir Putin. In preparation for this meeting, several African countries and Russia have had talks to ensure the success of the summit and to inject new dynamism into Russia-Africa relations.
King Mohammed VI made an official visit to Russia in March 2016. Nearly three years later, the Sovereign received, in January 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergei Lavrov, as part of the strengthening of relations between the two countries.
