King Mohammed VI’s plane landed on Tuesday on the tarmac of Sania Ramel International Airport. The sovereign will celebrate Eid al-Adha in Tetouan.
A massive deployment of police forces has been put in place for the arrival of King Mohammed VI in Tetouan. Helicopters were flying irregularly in the sky of the city, reports the site Al3omk. The royal plane landed in the afternoon of Tuesday at Sania R’mel airport. The sovereign will celebrate Eid al-Adha there this year, after 2019 and 2023.
Tetouan and M’diq have been transformed for the arrival of King Mohammed VI. Under the supervision of the local authorities, municipal employees have not only worked on the rehabilitation of the main roads leading to the royal palace of Tetouan and the royal residence of M’diq, the alignment of trees and green spaces, the installation of lighting structures, but they have also carried out marking, painting and restoration operations on the main roads, sidewalks, houses and public buildings. The El Mechouar square has been landscaped and the associated fountains have been activated.
In Tetouan, maintenance and painting work has been undertaken at the Hassan II mosque to welcome King Mohammed VI, who sometimes prays there for Eid al-Adha, sacrifices the animal in the courtyard of the place of worship. The sovereign also has the habit of commemorating the Throne Feast, the ceremony of allegiance and the swearing-in ceremony of graduate officers, from the royal palace of the city.
Cities in northern Morocco are among King Mohammed VI’s favorite destinations. He sometimes spends his vacations there, sometimes driving through the streets of Tetouan, M’diq and Al Hoceima without an escort.
