King Mohammed VI Begins Summer Vacation in Northern Morocco’s M’diq

Like last year, King Mohammed VI has chosen to start his vacation in the city of M’diq where he will celebrate Eid al-Adha.
Mohammed VI arrived on Tuesday early afternoon at Sania R’mel airport in Tetouan aboard his Boeing 747 from Casablanca, from where he went to M’diq. Last summer, the monarch had also spent two good months in this city in the north of the kingdom where he has a royal palace. The king likes to board his sailboat, the Badis 1, for a cruise in the Mediterranean and enjoy the calm of the sea and the beauty of the coastal landscape.
The Moroccan sovereign will spend part of his summer vacation in this region where he will celebrate Eid al-Adha on June 17 and participate in the prayer on this occasion at the Al Atiq mosque in Tetouan. The Royal Moroccan Navy has taken all the necessary arrangements to ensure security during the stay in the North. Two patrol boats have been deployed near the Benzú and Tarajal breakwaters. A security system that also aims to deter would-be illegal immigrants to Ceuta and reduce drug trafficking in the Strait of Gibraltar, estimates El Debate.
M’diq has been spruced up to welcome the monarch. Decoration and painting refurbishment work has been carried out in all the streets of the city, which has also been cleared of the homeless and beggars. The authorities in Tangier are also busy preparing a warm welcome for Mohammed VI, who could choose to spend pleasant moments in this city.
