Moroccan Cities Prepare for King Mohammed VI’s Eid al-Adha Visit

A few days before the arrival of King Mohammed VI, the cities of Tetouan and M’diq are in a state of excitement. As in 2019 and 2023, the sovereign will celebrate Eid al-Adha in Tetouan this year.
Tetouan and M’diq are preparing to welcome King Mohammed VI. The streets of the two cities are in full effervescence, reports the site Al3omk. Under the supervision of the local authorities, municipal employees are not only working on the rehabilitation of the main roads leading to the royal palace of Tetouan and the royal residence of M’diq, the alignment of trees and green spaces, the installation of lighting structures, but they are also carrying out tracing, painting and restoration operations on the main roads, sidewalks, houses and public buildings. The El Mechouar square and the associated fountains are not left out.
In Tetouan, maintenance and painting work has been undertaken at the Hassan II mosque to welcome King Mohammed VI, who sometimes prays there for Eid al-Adha, sacrifices the animal in the back courtyard of the place of worship. He has already sacrificed this tradition twice in Tetouan: in 2019 and 2023.
Tetouan remains one of King Mohammed VI’s favorite destinations. He sometimes spends his vacations there. This year, he should deliver his Throne speech from the city.
