Morocco’s King Congratulates Women’s Team on World Cup Qualification Despite AFCON Final Loss

Just after the match between Morocco and South Africa, as part of the final of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, King Mohammed VI had a telephone conversation with the Lionesses of the Atlas.
Even though Morocco lost the final against South Africa with a score of (2-1), the king, during this telephone conversation, congratulated the Lionesses of the Atlas for their performances throughout the competition and conveyed all his encouragement for the remaining challenges they have to face, since thanks to their brilliant run, Morocco has qualified for the 2023 World Cup.
During his call, King Mohammed VI was able to exchange with the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, the coach of the women’s national team, Reynald Pedros, and the captain Ghizlane Chebbak. He expressed his pride in them for having given their best with faith, commitment and determination.
