King Mohammed VI has just sent a message of congratulations to Algerian President Abdelkader Bensalah after Algeria’s victory on Friday, July 19, in the final of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) in Egypt.
"It is my pleasure to express to the brotherly Algerian people, on the occasion of the well-deserved victory of its national football team in the final of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations hosted by sister Egypt, the warmest congratulations for this continental football achievement, and to the entire Algerian football," writes the Moroccan Sovereign.
"On this historic occasion, I am pleased to share, in my own name and on behalf of the entire Moroccan people, the feelings of pride in this deserved achievement with the brotherly Algerian people, especially since it is the victory of a neighboring and brotherly Maghreb country whose consecration is that of Morocco," the King of Morocco further writes.
"Following this great sporting distinction, I can only express to the brotherly Algerian people, and through it to all the components of its national team - players, technical, medical and administrative staff - the sincere expressions of esteem and consideration for this high-level technical performance and the elevated spirit of competition shown by this ambitious selection throughout the matches of this distinguished African championship," concludes the Sovereign.
