Morocco Invests 160 Million DH in Five New Universities for Guelmim-Oued Noun Region

The government plans to build five university institutions in the Guelmim-Oued Noun region for a budget of more than 160 million DH. They will be created through partnerships with the regional council and wilaya and the provincial councils.
At the end of the regional coordination meeting on the implementation of the framework law 51.17 relating to the education and training system, the delegate minister in charge of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Driss Ouaouicha, specified that the construction of these university establishments should allow a upgrading of the human element and contribute to the development of the region. According to the official, two establishments, namely the National School of Commerce and Management and the Faculty of Economics and Management, will be established in Guelmin, while the three other university establishments will be built in Sidi Ifni (National School of Applied Sciences), Assa-Zag (Multidisciplinary Faculty) and El Ouatia in the province of Tan-Tan (Higher School of Technology), according to a press release from his department.
Driss Ouaouicha also stressed the importance of successfully partnering for the execution of these projects over the next three years. He also emphasized the integration into the job market of graduates from the region and the continuing education of human resources, as well as the diversification and enrichment of the educational offer through new programs, particularly in the field of ICT.
