Morocco Invests $100 Million to Modernize Rural Roads in Northern Region

The Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma region is preparing to invest heavily in its rural roads. An agreement of over one billion dirhams will soon be signed with the government to finance this large-scale project.
This ambitious project plans the construction and maintenance of many roads, as well as the management of issues related to existing land and networks. The region will cover the largest part of the budget, 700 million dirhams, assisted by the government, which will contribute 300 million dirhams.
A special committee, chaired by the wali, will be created to oversee the work and ensure that everything goes as planned, within the allotted time.
The objective is clear: to open up rural areas, make them more attractive and reduce inequalities between the different parts of the region. Improving rural road networks will not only facilitate access to essential services for rural residents, but also stimulate the local economy by promoting trade and the development of tourism activities.
