Morocco to Host 2022 African Handball Championship in Laâyoune

The city of Laâyoune will host the African Handball Championship in 2022, after hosting the African Futsal Cup of Nations this year.
The news was announced by the President of the Royal Moroccan Handball Federation. According to Adil Hanafi, the next edition of the tournament (2022) will be held in Morocco, in the halls of the city of Laâyoune.
This competition is the most prestigious on the continent, and is held every two years, like its equivalent in football, the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN). During this Tunisian edition of the African Handball Championship, [Morocco] is in the group of Algeria, Zambia and Congo and has started the competition with an overwhelming victory over Congo (34-25) at the beginning of the week.
It should be noted that the organization of the African Handball Championship in Laâyoune will follow the Futsal CAN which is being held in the same city from January 28 to February 7 and has seen the withdrawal of South Africa for political reasons.
