Morocco to Host 2021 CAF Champions League Final in Casablanca

The 2020/2021 CAF-Total Champions League final will be played in Morocco on July 17. This announcement was made by the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), following a meeting held in Kigali, Rwanda, on Saturday, May 15.

The Mohammed V sports complex in Casablanca will host the 2020/2021 CAF-Total Champions League final. During the Kigali meeting, the Executive Committee chaired by the CAF President, Patrice Motsepe, also made other decisions concerning African or sub-regional competitions.

CAF has awarded Benin the organization of the 2021 CAF-Total Confederation Cup final scheduled for July 10. The CAF-Total 2021 Women’s Champions League and the CAF-Total 2023 U20 Africa Cup of Nations will be held in Egypt. The CAF-Total 2023 U17 Africa Cup of Nations will take place in Algeria, while Mozambique will host the 2022 CAF Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations.

The Executive Committee also endorsed the decisions of the Emergency Committee regarding the postponement of the African qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar scheduled for June 2021. According to CAF, the qualifying matches will now be held during the international windows of September, October and November 2021, as well as March 2022.
