Morocco Heat Wave Alert: Extreme Temperatures Reach 44°C

The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM has just triggered an orange alert level in response to this surge in temperatures. Between Saturday and Tuesday, extreme values oscillating between 41 and 44°C will strike several provinces, including Tata, Laâyoune, Taroudant, Es-Semara and Oued Eddahab. During this same period, the mercury will also climb between 37 and 41°C across a vast area affecting numerous cities, ranging from Fès to Marrakech, passing through Kénitra, Safi, Meknès and Settat.

This heat wave will extend to other urban areas and coastal zones early in the week. Monday and Tuesday, particularly hot weather, marked by temperatures of 37 to 41°C, will dominate the Rabat-Salé axis as well as the provinces of Agadir-Idaoutanane, Inezgane-Ait Melloul and Tiznit. Meanwhile, coastal areas such as Casablanca, Mohammedia, Sidi Ifni and El Jadida will not escape this trend, with maximum temperatures expected between 34 and 37°C according to forecasts anticipated by the DGM.
