Morocco’s Health Official Optimistic on COVID-19, Stresses Importance of Strict Confinement

The director of the Epidemiology and Disease Department at the Ministry of Health, Mohamed Lyoubi, is optimistic about the evolution of the coronavirus epidemic in the kingdom, "provided that the containment measures are scrupulously respected by the citizens, even within their homes".
The official hopes to be able to announce good news in the coming days, he announced during a press briefing. But he prefers to wait for the confirmation of certain data related to covid-19.
According to Lyoubi, 70% of the 5,560 people who had contact with confirmed cases tested positive despite the absence of symptoms. This explains the importance of confinement and the precautionary measures recommended by the Ministry of Health to overcome this pandemic.
At the current stage, it is difficult to anticipate the clinical results of the therapeutic protocol put in place for the management of covid-19, added Mohamed Lyoubi, who promised to communicate them in the very near future.
