Morocco Health Minister Faces Legal Challenge Over Official’s Dismissal

The Minister of Health, Khalid Ait Taleb, is the subject of a complaint filed by the regional delegate of Kelaâ Sraghna, following his dismissal. The latter is asking for the suspension of the minister’s decision.
The former delegate, who intends to hold a press conference to shed light on thorny issues, said he was wronged by the minister’s decision. He would have been suspended for denouncing acts of corruption that taint the health system in the region.
In the daily Assabah, El Mansouri bitterly confided "The hospital director had taken the initiative to sign a decision, which I had rejected, in favor of an official. Instead of opening an investigation, the central administration, under the direction of the secretary general whose term has expired, had offered me the choice between dismissal or transfer to another delegation".
"I am very proud to have given the best of myself both at the head of the regional delegation and as a surgeon. The day of my suspension, while I was piloting the vigilance commission for the fight against the coronavirus, the province of Kelaâ Sraghna did not record any Covid-19 cases," he argued.
