Morocco Halts Sea Travel to France Amid COVID-19 Concerns

Like flights, the Moroccan authorities have decided to suspend maritime links between Morocco and France, in both directions. This measure takes effect from Sunday, November 28 at 11:59 p.m.
The decision was made through a note from the Merchant Navy Directorate, under the Ministry of Equipment, Transport and Logistics. It has already been notified to the various ports and maritime transport companies, particularly those operating the lines connecting Tanger Med and Nador to the ports of Sète and Marseille.
By closing its ports and airports, Morocco intends to protect its citizens and preserve the efforts made in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. France is already facing the fifth wave of Covid-19, and is preparing to administer the third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to all adults, 5 months after their last injection.
