Morocco’s Government Council to Examine Agricultural Land Acquisition Law

The Council of Government will meet this Thursday, under the chairmanship of the Head of Government, Saâdeddine El Othmani.
During this session, several projects will be scrutinized. At the beginning of the session, the Council will examine a draft law relating to special provisions concerning the acquisition, by public limited companies or joint-stock companies, of agricultural or arable land outside urban areas, according to a press release from the Head of Government.
The same source specifies that two draft decrees will then be examined during this council. The first sets the powers and organization of the Ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water. As for the second, it concerns the application of the provisions of Article 40 of the law relating to the artist and artistic professions.
Furthermore, the proceedings will be concluded by the examination of proposals for appointments to senior positions, in accordance with Article 92 of the Constitution.
