Morocco to Consider New Anti-Money Laundering Law and Diploma Equivalence Reforms

The law on money laundering and the one on the equivalence of higher education diplomas will be at the heart of the government council. This will be tomorrow, Thursday, under the effective chairmanship of the Head of Government, Saad-Eddine El Othmani.
According to a government statement, the issue of the law on money laundering will be addressed at the very beginning of the proceedings. The Council will then examine a draft decree amending and supplementing the decree on the conditions and procedure for granting equivalences of higher education diplomas.
The same source indicates that the examination of a multilateral convention for the implementation of measures relating to tax treaties, adopted in Paris on November 24, 2016 and signed by Morocco on June 25, 2019, with a draft law approving said convention, is also planned.
Finally, the Government Council will examine proposals for appointments to senior positions in accordance with the provisions of Article 92 of the Constitution.
