Morocco Futsal Team Secures World Cup Spot with Dominant 6-0 Win over Libya

The Moroccan Futsal team largely dominated Libya (6-0) in the semi-finals of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), which is taking place in Rabat. This success ensures the Atlas Lions a place in the final of the competition and a qualification for the 2024 Futsal World Cup in Uzbekistan.
From the first minutes of the match, the Moroccans took control of the game, quickly imposing themselves with a score of 2-0 thanks to goals from Soufiane El Messrar (6th) and Youssef Jawad (9th). Dominating technically and physically, the Atlas Lions continued to put pressure on their opponent and scored two more goals through Bilal Bakkali (17th) and Anas El Ayane.
Leading comfortably 4-0 at halftime, the Moroccans managed the game in the second half, scoring two more goals through El Messrar and Bakkali. Libya, overwhelmed by the pace and precision of the Atlas Lions, never managed to worry the Moroccan defense.
This convincing victory allows Morocco to qualify for its third consecutive CAN Futsal final. Undefeated since the start of the competition, Hicham Dguig’s team has confirmed its status as a favorite and has impressed with its level of play largely above its opponents.
In the final, scheduled for this Sunday, April 21, the Atlas Lions will face Angola, who created the surprise by eliminating Egypt in the semi-finals.
