Morocco Dominates Zambia 13-0 in CHAN Futsal, Advances to Semi-Finals

Undefeated and merciless! This is how one could summarize the journey of the Atlas Lions of futsal so far in the 2024 CHAN. After two convincing victories, the men of Hicham Dguig delivered a real offensive festival against Zambia on Monday evening in Rabat, winning 13-0. A demonstration of force that propels Morocco to the top of group A and places them in the semi-finals of the competition.
From the kick-off, the Moroccans displayed their intentions, largely dominating the match. Soufiane El Messrar opened the scoring in the 4th minute, before Bilal El Bakkali (5th), Ismail Amazal (7th), Soufiane Cherraoui (7th and 8th), Idriss Raiss El-Fenni (11th) and Anas El Ayane (17th and 18th) joined the party.
Far from letting up in the second half, Hicham Dguig’s men continued their dominance, scoring 4 more goals through Bilal Bakkali, Othmane Idrissi, Anas Dahmani (40th) and Anas El Ayane. Zambia, completely overwhelmed, never managed to find the flaw in the Moroccan defense.
This resounding victory allows the Atlas Lions to finish the group stage at the top of group A with 9 points, ahead of Angola (4 points), Ghana (3 points) and Zambia (0 point). In the semi-finals, they will face the second of group B, with the ambition to continue their triumphant run and win a new continental title and a qualification for the next World Cup.
