Morocco Aims for Third Futsal Title in CAN Semi-Final Clash with Libya

The Moroccan team faces Libya in the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2024) of futsal. After their convincing victories over Angola (5-2), Ghana (8-3) and Zambia (13-0), the men of Hicham Dguig have every chance of winning, although it will not be easy against the very difficult Libyan team.
The Atlas Lions are almost there. After their big wins over Angola (5-2), Ghana (8-3) and Zambia (13-0), they are almost touching a third continental title. To achieve this, however, they will have to overcome the Libyans this Friday (8 p.m.), at the covered hall of the Moulay Abdellah complex in Rabat, and continue their already well-traced path since the start of the competition. Their qualification for the final is a guarantee of their ticket for the World Cup to be held in Uzbekistan between September 14 and October 6, 2024 and will bring together 24 other teams. A possibility offered to the top three teams of the tournament.
The Libyan selection will not give the Moroccans any respite. This is something that the coach of the Atlas Lions, Hicham Dguig, is fully aware of. "With the succession of matches, our players are more comfortable in play and have become acclimatized and learned to manage the pressure. Saying that it is impossible or difficult to beat us is just an illusion. Each match has its own conditions, the players can be diminished, the goal opportunities not materialized... We must be ready for any eventuality in order to avoid surprises," he said at the pre-match press conference. And he added: "Libya preceded us in the continental competition, it is an experienced team that we respect. We will take the match seriously to avoid surprises".
• The Maroc - Libye futsal match is scheduled at 8 p.m. (Moroccan time) and 9 p.m. in Europe (France, Belgium...)
• The match can be followed live on the Moroccan channel Arryadia.
