Morocco Forms Commission to Address National Water Supply Challenges

The issue of drinking water supply management was the subject of a meeting chaired by the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch.
This videoconference meeting devoted to "examining the water situation in our country" allowed the participants to set up a committee responsible for monitoring the implementation of the government program on continuous drinking water supply in all regions of the Kingdom.
Under the supervision of the Ministry of Equipment and Water, "the commission will ensure the monitoring of the implementation of the government program on continuous drinking water supply in all regions of the Kingdom," says a press release from the Prime Minister’s department.
Several government ministers, as well as the Director General of the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water Abderrahim El Hafidi, took part in this meeting. The participants discussed the various anticipatory measures to be taken to ensure the availability of drinking water in all regions of the Kingdom. The Head of Government stressed the need to raise public awareness of the scarcity of water resources and ways to rationalize their consumption.
