Laâyoune’s New Desalination Plant Set to Boost Morocco’s Water Supply

The seawater desalination plant installed in Laâyoune as part of strengthening the national drinking water supply will soon be operational.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, on Monday in parliament, specifying that the new infrastructure will be launched in the coming days.
"The final preparations are underway with the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) to ensure water supply and put an end to interruptions in the city of Laâyoune," he said.
