Morocco’s Football League to Debut VAR Technology in Upcoming Match

The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) will be tested during the first Botola match between FUS and IRT on Friday, February 14, after a final test.
The final test of the VAR technique will be effective on Thursday, February 13, 2020, during a friendly match to be held at the Ahmed Choukri stadium in Zemamra, says Al Ahdath Al Maghribia. This, under the control of the Spanish company that sold this technology to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).
On this occasion, several cameras will be installed in the stadiums of Tetouan, Berkane, Oued Zem and Khouribga. The aim is to ensure the functionality of this technique before its effective implementation from February 14.
On Friday, the VAR technology will be used in the match between FUS de Rabat and Itiihad de Tanger for the first time in Botola at 5 p.m. (local time). An opportunity for the FRMF to avoid at all costs the controversial refereeing errors noted during the first half of the Botola.
