Morocco Expands VAR Technology to Second-Tier Soccer League

After an apparently successful experiment in the first division championship, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) plans to use the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) next month in the second division of the Botola.
The FRMF is already working on the implementation of this technology. This option of the federation aims to limit or even definitively end the many controversies born around refereeing errors, which lead to protests.
Several second division matches not being broadcast on television, some clubs feel they have often been victims of refereeing errors.
The experimentation of VAR in the first division championship made it possible to avoid about ten refereeing errors. It is on the basis of this encouraging result that the FRMF has decided to implement it in Botola 2 next month. The VAR will therefore be used during high-stakes matches.
