Moroccan Soccer Referee Banned for Life After Controversial Penalty Decisions

The Botola Pro referee, Hicham Tiazi, was handed a life suspension by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). The reason is his poor refereeing during the match between Youssoufia de Berrechid and Olympique de Khouribga (4-1).
Hicham Tiazi will no longer officiate any official match in the Botola pro. This is at least what can be concluded from this unprecedented sanction from the FRMF. It comes as he had only a few months left to officiate, after more than ten years of service.
At the origin of this sanction, the gross errors committed by the referee, whose decisions affected the outcome of the match. The man indeed whistled four penalties, three of which in favor of the Khouribguis, winners in the end with a score of 4 goals to 1, we are told.
Relying on the match commissioner’s report, the federation has therefore decided on the definitive sidelining of the controversial referee. This decision has been criticized on Twitter by several Internet users who have described it as "populist".
