Morocco’s Football Federation Weighs Future of Coach Ammouta After Arab Cup Exit

Will the coach of the Atlas Lions A’, Houcine Ammouta, lose his job after the elimination of his team, on Saturday, against Algeria in the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup? The decision of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) is eagerly awaited.
Will he stay or will he go? This is the question that Al Akhbar is asking about Houcine Ammouta, the coach of the locals who were eliminated on Saturday in the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup by Algeria after a penalty shootout. For the moment, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has not yet decided on his fate.
According to an authorized source, FRMF President Fouzi Lekjaa is waiting for the detailed report on the participation of the Atlas Lions A’ in the Arab Cup before making a decision. The document should expose the reasons for the team’s elimination in the quarter-finals, adds the same source, noting that Lekjaa did not fail to show his support to the players and the staff after the defeat.
Barring any surprises, the FRMF should keep Houcine Ammouta in his position. The Moroccan coach has always achieved the objectives set by the Federation. Last year, he won the CHAN 2021 in Cameroon.
For his part, Houcine Ammouta would not have to complain in case of departure from the selection. Several Moroccan and Gulf clubs would be ready to hire his services, he who had made Wydad Casablanca win the Champions League in 2017.
