Morocco's Football Chief to Attend Crucial AFCON Round of 16 Match Against Malawi

The president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, will attend the next match of the Atlas Lions. Morocco will face Malawi in the round of 16 on Tuesday, January 25.

Fouzi Lekjaa will be present to encourage the Moroccan players whose qualification for the quarter-finals is highly anticipated. The president of the federation will therefore not be able to participate in the draw for the 2022 World Cup qualifying play-offs (Africa Zone), scheduled for this Saturday at 4 p.m., the day of his departure for Cameroon.

To reach the round of 16 of the AFCON Cameroon 2021, Morocco finished top of their group (C) thanks to two wins, against Ghana (1-0) and the Comoros (2-0), and a draw against Gabon (2-2).

As for Malawi, it started the competition with a defeat against Guinea (1-0), before beating Zimbabwe (2-1) and drawing against Senegal in group B.
