Morocco Football Chief Lekjaa Demands Answers After Narrow Win Over Zambia

The unconvincing performance of the Atlas Lions against Zambia (2-1) at the Grand Stade d’Agadir would have made Fouzi Lekjaa, the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, furious.
Fouzi Lekjaa was not satisfied with the performance of the Moroccan players in the match against Zambia, sources tell the site Alayam24, specifying that the president of the FRMF will wait to judge the performance of the Atlas Lions in the match against Congo Brazzaville before "summoning Regragui for an evaluation session of the two matches".
According to the same sources, the Moroccan technician will have to provide explanations to Lekjaa on the lackluster performance of the Moroccan players and on the behavior of some of them during the gathering and the match against Zambia, counting for the third round of the 2026 World Cup African qualifiers.
This session will be the second of its kind between the two men, the first having taken place after the disappointing elimination in the round of 16 of the 2023 CAN in Côte d’Ivoire. After which, the FRMF announced in a press release its renewal of confidence in Regragui until the 2025 CAN organized by Morocco.
